One way to prepare your organization to leverage international talent is to host a work experience placement.
All London Region employers can particiapte in WIL Employment Connections' 8-week Volunteer Work Placement program for internationally trained individuals. These placements can provide your business with a no-risk opportunity to assess the skills and qualifications of an internationally trained candidate without making a financial commitment. Employers do not pay any wages and WSIB premiums are covered by the program.
At the same time, these placements provide newcomer job seekers with valuable Canadian work experience, further knowledge of Canadian business culture, and greater ability to form networks in their profession.
