Professional Immigrant Networks

London Region Environmental Scan of Professional Immigrant Networks – PINs

We need your help

The London Middlesex Immigrant Employment Council (LMIEC) and the Access Centre for Regulated Employment (ACRE) are seeking your assistance in identifying professional immigrant networks established in London Region.  For this environmental scan, professional immigrant networks (PINs) are defined as organized, volunteer-run groups created by and for internationally-educated and experienced professionals who seek to:

  • Create a forum to contribute to and enrich their respective communities
  • Cultivate social capital
  • Find meaningful employment, primarily in their areas of professional practice
  • Sharpen their skills-set, and;
  • Keep abreast with current trends and changes in their respective sectors.

What is the purpose of the scan?

This scan will help connect stakeholders in our region to a “network of networks” being established through the work of the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC).  The goal of TRIEC’s PIN project is to work collaboratively with immigrant networks to increase their capacity, so they can achieve more success in connecting their skilled immigrant members to meaningful employment.   For more information: please click here.

Participating in this scan will also support London stakeholders by:

  • Building awareness of and connections between professional immigrant networks in London and those in other areas of the Province.
  • Strengthening opportunities to share information about London Region services, supports and emerging job opportunities with newcomers living in the GTA and other cities throughout Ontario.

LMIEC & ACRE are conducting this London scan through the support of ALLIES.  For more information, please visit http://alliescanada.ca/.

What are the next steps?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
